Quicktime

I have Windows 10 and want to install Quicktime. The app is not on my computer but when I try to install I get a message that a newer version is already installed. Fix?

Thanks

where are you installing it from? > Download QuickTime 7.7.9 for Windows

That page avoids talking about Windows 10

"Please note: QuickTime 7 is for use with Windows Vista or Windows 7. If installed on other versions of Windows, it may not offer full functionality and is unsupported."

but I am running it on a Win10 Dell laptop after installing it while still on Win8.1 - I seem to recall a couple of "build" updates since installing

You might consider the microsoft or adobe (video) forums for any workarounds found by those fine folk.

This seems to the most current ASC thread on the subject - read it thoroughly and try what you think best > QuickTime 7.7.8 no longer installs on Windows 10

you could consider tacking onto it to get input from folk that may be receiving email notifications of activity on it.
